Terms for a site that cannot yet sell you anything.

A demonstration of DrinkCard. Every producer, experience, host, review, rating, price and availability calendar on it is invented for the demonstration. So are the figures in the curation and waitlist bands. Any resemblance to a real winery, distillery or brewery is unintended and is neither an endorsement by them nor a claim of any relationship with them.

The photographs are the exception, and are worth being precise about: they are real photographs of real places, licensed from their photographers. They illustrate the fictional businesses shown beside them; they do not depict them.

Every page carries a notice saying as much, and the curation standard describes how listings will be reviewed once there are real ones.

DrinkCard markets experiences at producers of alcoholic drinks. It is intended for people old enough to drink where they live — 21 in the United States, 18 in our other regions — and every experience states the age that applies to it. If you are not, this is not a site for you yet.

Joining the waitlist is not a purchase, a reservation, a booking, or a promise of a place. It tells us you want to be told when we open, and which region you want opened first — and the region vote genuinely decides the order.

A producer applying through the same form is not thereby accepted, listed or partnered with us. Applications are read by a person and most are turned down.

The DrinkCard name, the wordmark, the writing, the design and the code are ours. Please do not copy the site wholesale, scrape it, or pass its writing off as your own.

The photography is not ours to give away. It is licensed from the photographers who took it, so a licence to use this site is not a licence to use their pictures.

Quoting us with a link, or writing about the site, needs no permission at all.

The site is provided as it is. We change it constantly, we take things down, and pages that exist today may not tomorrow. Every number, availability calendar, price and rating on it is illustrative and is not an offer.

We try to keep it up and correct, and we do not promise that it always will be.

If something on this demonstration site causes you a loss, our responsibility is limited to what the law allows us to limit it to. Nothing here removes a right you have that we are not permitted to remove — consumer rights in particular survive anything written on this page.

Since nothing here can be bought, the realistic scope of this section is small, and we would rather say that than pad it.

Four documents will exist and do not: booking terms, payment and refund terms, gift-card terms, and the producer agreement. Until they are published here, nothing on this site forms a contract to supply you with anything, and nothing you do here obliges you to pay us.

They will be published before the first real booking, not alongside it. The policies the site already states out loud — the three cancellation policies, the full refund when a producer cancels, the full refund on a gift unclaimed after twelve months, no booking fee, no paid placement — are what those documents will have to honour.

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. The governing law and the place a dispute would be settled will be named here alongside the booking terms — naming one now, before there is anything to dispute, would be guesswork dressed up as a clause.
